KEEP SUMMER AND WINTER TEMPERATURES IN MIND

March, April, September, and October temperatures can range between 53°F – 86°F.

May, June, July, and August are winter and temperatures range between 36°F – 77°F during the day, with night temperatures dropping to below 32°F.

CLOTHING

  • Good walking boots with gaiters.
  • Comfortable camp shoes.
  • Long hunting pants (Dark Khaki/Olive Green/Camo).
  • Short hunting pants (For summer hunts Mar – Apr, Sept – Oct).
  • Short hunting pants (For summer hunts Mar – Apr, Sept – Oct).
  • Hunting shirts (Dark Khaki/Olive Green/Camo).
  • Hunting Jacket (Dark Khaki/Olive Green/Camo).
  • Warm sweater or jumper.
  • Casual wear for the evenings.
  • Cap or Hat.

EXTRA GEAR (Not All Mandatory)

  • Sun Block SPF 50 is a necessity!
  • Small Backpack for daily equipment while hunting (e.g. cameras, extra ammo, water).
  • Noise canceling earbuds or headphones for shooting.
  • Binoculars.
  • Shooting sticks if you prefer your own. Your PH will have a set available too.
  • Head Lamp.
  • Pocket/Hunting Knife.
  • International plug set - Conversion to South Africa 220 V.
  • Phone Charger.
  • First aid is on hand in camp and in all hunting vehicles, but it would be wise to bring your own requirements along.
  • Insect Repellent.
  • Toiletries – not all our camps provide complimentary toiletries.
  • Wet wipes.

RIFLES

  • Rifle with Sufficient Ammunition UNLESS hiring.
  • Rifle cleaning kit UNLESS hiring.
  • Rifle case –
  • Always ensure you have a strong protective rifle case to travel with internationally, with a separate case for ammunition. Having good locks on these cases are essential. Bring along an extra soft case per gun, to protect the rifle from dust, but also ensure the rifles are secure in rifle racks on the back of vehicles when traveling.
  • Zero all rifles with scopes before leaving home. Scopes will be checked again before hunting starts as they might shift during transit.

FINAL CHECKS BEFORE LEAVING HOME

  • Passport (With valid pages and at least 6 months validity prior to expiration).
  • Air Tickets.
  • Flight Itinerary.
  • Rifle Import Permit Application and relevant documentation if required UNLESS hiring.
