SOUTH AFRICAN SUMMER MONTHS ARE IDEAL FOR FISHING
The best time for fishing in South Africa is our summer months, from October to May.
Summer temperatures can range between 80°F – 104°F.
CLOTHING
- Comfortable shoes suitable for sand and rocks. Ankle rubber boots work very well.
- Waterproof jacket. It tends to be cold and wet along the coast during night times.
- Long sleeve fishing shirts to protect against the sun.
- Casual wear for the evenings.
- Cap or Hat.
IMPORTANT EXTRA GEAR
- Head Lamp.
- Sunglasses & Sun Block SPF 50 & Chapstick.
- Neck Gaiter (Buff).
OTHER GEAR (Not All Mandatory)
- Small Backpack for daily equipment while fishing (e.g., cameras, water).
- Camera with lens cleaning cloths.
- Pocket Knife.
- International plug set - Conversion to South Africa 220 V.
- Insect Repellent - Tick repellent preferably containing DEET.
- First aid is on hand in all transportation vehicles, but it would be wise to bring your own requirements along.
- Spare batteries/chargers if required.
- Prescription drugs if required.
- Toiletries.
- Baby/Wet wipes.
FINAL CHECKS BEFORE LEAVING HOME
- Passport (With valid pages and at least 6 months validity prior to expiration).
- Air Tickets.
- Flight Itinerary.
